Seminar Description
The Art of the Ask?
Do you agonize when you have to talk to a prospective donor about a meeting to discuss a major gift? Do you worry that your call will be ignored or request for an appointment be declined? Do you know who should actually set up the appointment? What the actual call should sound like? Who should go to the meeting? How to conduct the meeting? When during the meeting to Ask? How much to Ask for? How to handle put offs and objections. How to close the gift? For many smaller nonprofits this is uncharted territory. While “Asking “is best done with research, preparation and donor cultivation, the actual Ask is still very daunting. This interactive seminar will demystify the process for you and hopefully make you more comfortable in The Art of Asking.
The seminar will be conducted by Hillel Korin, Executive Vice President at The Ostroff Group; Principal at Korin Development Associates and at Give2gether.com. Hillel is a consummate Resource Development and Organization Professional with more than 30 years experience in resource development management, strategic planning, coaching, mentoring, major gift solicitation, organizational development, design and execution of annual campaigns. Some of the organizations that have benefited from his expertise include: The SAMFund , The Waldorf School of Baltimore, Flying J Ranch in Denver, Solomon Schechter School of Westchester, The Partnership for Excellence in Jewish Education, Brandeis University, The Combined Jewish Philanthropies of Greater Boston, The Boys and Girls Club of Waltham and The New England Aquarium. He is a board member of several nonprofits including the American Jewish Committee, Boston Chapter and Brandies University Hillel Foundation.
