Good finances can’t help a bad mission succeed, but bad finances can bring a good mission down. At this seminar you’ll develop an understanding of the fundamentals of nonprofit financial reporting, techniques for managing cash flow, important considerations in developing budgets and measuring performance, and good practices for governance in the fiscal area. If you are a director or an executive at a nonprofit and sometimes find its financial statements dense and impractical for decision making, then do not miss this seminar.

Seminar shall be conducted by David Orlinoff, principal at the consulting firm of Concord Financial Organization; the firm specializes in providing interim CFO services to the nonprofit sector. Prior to founding Concord Financial in 1996, David was the Vice President, Finance and Administration, of Combined Jewish Philanthropies in Boston. He serves over 50 clients covering various segments of the nonprofit sector; a partial list includes: Boston Ballet, Mass. Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, Education Development Center, Jewish Family & Children’s Services, Elder Services, and Franklin Pierce University. Currently he serves as the president of the board of Third Sector New England and as a member of the audit committee of United Way of Mass. Bay and Merrimack Valley. He is a frequent speaker at nonprofit conferences and teaches nonprofit financial management at Boston University and Notheastern University. David is a graduate of UCLA.  He received his MBA from Harvard Business School and MS in Accounting from Bentley College.
