Seminar Description

Fundraising In a Tight Economy: Best Practices For Success

Don’t miss this important seminar that can help you learn ways to raise funds in light of the current economic crises. In order to attract and retain funders and donors in the current tough economic times we must adopt the practices of a high-performance nonprofit. This requires hard work, yet the payoff is tremendous. High-performance nonprofits attract and retain funding dollars, productive board members, better serve their clients, and fulfill their missions. And in today’s increasingly complex and competitive marketplace, we can afford nothing less.  The seminar topics include: Defining a high-performance nonprofit; why it’s crucial in terms of building a robust fundraising program; the basics of organizational development and how they relate to fundraising success; and the important strategies that increase the success of fund development.

The seminar will be conducted by Sarah B. Lange, MSW; Principal and Founder of Legacy Consulting. Sarah has served as counsel to more than 100 New England organizations and has helped them raise more than $45m from foundations, corporations, local, state and federal governments and individuals.  She is frequent presenter and well known and respected for her depth and breadth of expertise in organizational management, leadership, strategic planning, fund development and evaluation.  Sarah has served on the faculty at Clark University, Boston University School of Social Work, Worcester State College, Assumption College, and the University of Massachusetts, Boston. Prior to founding Legacy, Sarah held various management roles in the non-profit sector. She earned her Masters Degree from Boston University School of Social Work and her B.A. from Colgate University.

This event is free and open to all nonprofit organizations and individuals interested in the nonprofit sector. Coffee shall be served. The Nonprofit Net Inc. is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization based in Lexington. Its mission is to unite nonprofits with their community and increase their capacity to deliver services.
